French Bulldog Breeders by State
A short list of French Bulldog breeders we could actually verify. Each one is checked against the French Bull Dog Club of America Breeder Referral List, AKC records, the OFA health database and the breeder’s own site, and every listing shows what we found: health testing, club membership, AKC status and the colors they breed.

How we vet breeders
We start from the sources breed experts already trust and work outward.
- FBDCA Breeder Referral ListThe French Bull Dog Club of America only lists members with 3+ years in the club, at least four champions bred, OFA CHIC-certified breeding dogs and a written contract.
- AKC recognitionWe note AKC Breeder of Merit and Bred with H.E.A.R.T. status where AKC or the breeder shows it.
- Published health testingWe record the OFA and DNA results a breeder makes public, and say so when a site names no specific tests.
- Honest color labelsBreeders who sell colors outside the standard are listed separately, never mixed in with standard-color programs.
A listing is not an endorsement. It means we found public evidence for what’s on the page. Your own questions still matter most.
French Bulldog breeder FAQ
How are breeders chosen for this directory?
Each breeder was checked against public sources: the French Bull Dog Club of America Breeder Referral List, AKC Breeder of Merit and Bred with H.E.A.R.T. records, the OFA health database and the kennel’s own website. Every listing has at least a phone number, website or email, and breeders whose details we could not confirm from public sources were left out.
What is the FBDCA Breeder Referral List?
It is the French Bull Dog Club of America’s list of member breeders who meet extra requirements: at least three years of club membership, at least four conformation champions bred, OFA CHIC certification on breeding stock, a written contract and agreement to the club’s code of ethics.
What is the difference between AKC Breeders and Non-Standard Color Breeders?
AKC Breeders breed to the French Bulldog breed standard. Non-Standard Color Breeders offer colors outside the standard, such as blue, lilac, merle or fluffy. Those colors are disqualified in AKC conformation and some are linked to health concerns, so we label them and show the health testing each breeder publishes.
Does a listing mean Best French Bulldog endorses the breeder?
No. A listing means we found public evidence of the credentials shown on the page as of October 2026. Always ask to see the parents’ OFA and DNA results, meet the dogs, and read the contract before you pay a deposit.
What health tests should a French Bulldog breeder show me?
Ask for OFA results on both parents, including hips, patellas, heart and a recent eye exam, plus DNA results for conditions such as juvenile hereditary cataracts (HSF4), degenerative myelopathy and hyperuricosuria. OFA results are public at ofa.org, so ask for the parents’ registered names and check them yourself.
