Questions about dog trainers in San Diego
How did you choose the dog trainers in San Diego?
We list 16 trainers across San Diego County. Every one holds at least one recognized certification (IAABC, CCPDT, KPA, CTC, PPAB, CSAT or Victoria Stilwell Academy) and is listed through an organization that promotes reward-based training. We also checked their websites for shock, prong or "balanced" training and left out anyone who promotes it.
Why use a positive reinforcement trainer for a French Bulldog?
The American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior recommends reward-based methods and advises against aversive tools. For a Frenchie there is a physical reason too: leash corrections and collar pressure land on a short, crowded airway, so a harness and rewards are kinder to the body as well as the mind.
Is a listing an endorsement?
No. A listing means the trainer met our credential bar and the details shown came from public sources as of October 2026. Ask about their experience with flat-faced breeds and watch a session before you sign up.
