What this means for a Frenchie
Because flat-faced dogs can struggle to breathe with pressure on the neck, vets commonly recommend a harness over collar corrections for Frenchies. No leash pops, prong or shock collars: reward-based training keeps pressure off the airway. Read our force-free French Bulldog training guide.
Sources: the Pet Professional Guild member directory, checked October 2026. Credentials are shown as the trainer lists them in the Pet Professional Guild directory. Confirm current services and prices with the trainer before booking.
